This is part of a series and all post can be found on the blog of Passionate about Websites.
Websites for South Africans, by South Africans.
Market your e-commerce website – EVERY DAY!
- Use social media to your advantage, get a presence on all that are appropriate for your products and service and make your presence known. Different social media platforms use different forms to communicate, so find the ones that work best for you, e.g. Instagram focus on the visual so post appealing photos of your products. Add a link to your site with an invitation to buy every time you post.
- Add your website URL and a tagline to ALL your e-mail signatures. Invite people to explore your site.
- Print your next batch of business cards sooner than later and add your URL to that. Also update all your stationery, e.g letterheads and complimentary slips, packaging slips, shipping labels. Most importantly, add your URL to ALL your product labels and stickers with a note that says “for more products purchase online at URL” we will tell you more about this later.
- Not everybody can afford this nor is this feasible for many e-commerce sites, but if radio and print ads will work for you and it will pay off, go for it.
Please note that most of the information here pertains to sites selling physical or downloadable goods. However, for most of it, the same advice may apply to sites rendering service or products of a different nature. We are confident that you will benefit from this.
